The New York Giants talked with New England Patriots assistant coaches Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis on Thursday about their vacant head coaching job.
``We met with them,'' Giants general manager Ernie Accorsi said Thursday evening. ``I don't want to say anything else.''
Weis and Crennel are the third and fourth candidates the Giants interviewed as possible successors to Jim Fassel, who was fired after the Giants finished a 4-12 season.

Crennel was a Giants assistant from 1981-92, working under Ray Perkins, Bill
Parcells and Ray Handley. Weis was an assistant from 1990-92 with Parcells and
Handley.
Currently, Crennel is the defensive coordinator for the Patriots, who went 14-2 this season, best record in the NFL. Weis is the offensive coordinator.
New York already has interviewed former Jacksonville coach Tom Coughlin, another ex-Giants assistant.
The team also interviewed St. Louis Rams defensive coordinator Lovie Smith on Tuesday.
